Kenny formed the original Kenny James band while still at school in Sydney. Over the many years since the band has prospered & sometimes gone into recess & has had lots of changes to style & personnel. The highly experienced “Kenny James Quartet” is certainly the best as it features some of the best known & talented musicians in Queensland.

Peter Uppman on Trumpet & Vocals. Peter is well known to Jazz club members as his talent is recognised by several other groups as well.

Jose MacLaughlin on Piano & Vocals. Jose was a foundation member of “Jerry & the Pacemakers” back in the 60s & is a very fine exponent of jazz, whether playing keys, guitar or singing.

Jo Bloomfield started studying piano at the age of six, like most budding piano players she started training on classical music. However her jazz career started with the formation of the “Vintage Jazz & Blues Band” in Brisbane in 1973.

Since then Jo has played with a variety of bands in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast as well as interstate & overseas events. She has played at many top level jazz conventions such as Norfolk Island, Manly (NSW) & the Dresden International Jazz Festival in Germany.

Jo is equally at home playing Jazz, swing, latin & classic Rock & Roll but also belts out some ragtime piano which has the crowd on it’s feet. Jo also doubles on keyboard bass. Obviously such a talent is always in high demand & Jo currently plays with The Andrews Sisters tribute band, The Session band with Peter Uppman & of course the “Kenny James Quartet”

Kenny James on Drums. Kenny likes to support the other members of the band by sitting in the groove & not making too much noise but has been known to cut loose on occasions.

The playing experience on stage that afternoon will be well over 200 years.
